Stages

Carter is weaned.

We nursed for 15.5 months and I worked for 12 of those 15.5.   I am thrilled that we were succesful and were able to nurse for that long.   It was good for him and we enjoyed the bonding time.  Looking back the actual weaning process was not as bad as I thought it would be.  The hardest time to cut out was the middle of the night nursing session, which toward the end was just "I want to be with mommy" time.  The last nursing session we cut was the bedtime and that went pretty smoothly.  I simply stopped letting him nurse unless he asked to.

I am pro nursing if you are able to.  I say if you are able, because there are some mom's out there who just cannot produce enough milk.  It is a choice and a big commitment to decide to nurse and to continue to nurse after you have gone back to work.  I totally get how hard a decision it can be.

I send out a big "Thank You!" to my co-workers who were very understanding with my pumping schedule.

I also send out a big "Thank You and I Love You!"  to my hubby who supported me in the decision to breastfeed.

So this stage is his life is over.

Yes........I will shed a few tears as I shop for new bras.

He has moved on to a new stage. The stubborn throwing things saying "no!" discovering his independence stage.   Check out the face!

But when he is naughty and you try to repremand him he looks at you with those big dark eyes and smiles and just melts your heart.

I think I am in trouble.

Love My Mom

Dear Mom,

Thank you for holding my hand when I was afraid and telling me it would be alright even when you were just as scared as me.

Thank you for putting up with teenage me. (enough said)

Thank you for cleaning up my messes both figuratively and literally.

Thank you for your support in everything.

Thank you for telling me to use my better judgement.  It did come in handy and work out well in most cases.  Occasionally there was a snaffu, but always a lesson learned.

Thank you for doing my laundry..........I appreciate how much work it really is now that I do it.

Thank you for being a shoulder to cry on, a hand to hold , and someone to talk to.

Thank you for being you!

I Love You Mom!!
